Hi, my name is Sam B. I’m a disabled veteran and author of Combat Medic: A Soldier’s Story of the Iraq War and PTSD. I served in the First Cavalry in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2004 to 2005. I was a front-line medic with the infantry for about 14 months. When I came back home, I wasn’t the same as when I left. Parts of me were hurting really bad and parts of me mentally were incomplete.
After getting back, I was medically retired from the military with PTSD. After a year of being out of the military, I started having really bad pain in my back and in my knees. Pretty much all over. I went to the VA and they diagnosed me with osteoarthritis in my knees as well as deteriorating disc disease in my back. I was having pain nonstop day in and day out. It was so bad that I couldn’t even get out of bed. Most days, I would do the least I possibly could. I wrote a book about my time on the front line. When I was out promoting my book, I ran into Pain Free Patriots. They offered to take away my pain for free.
I was very much of a skeptic when I talked to them. I didn’t believe they could help me because I had worked with the VA for more than 12 years. The most they could do was get me by with muscle relaxers, even after physical therapy. If you name it, I’ve gotten it. None of it worked.
I came to Pain Free Patriots and got a consult with the doctor. Within two weeks of being with Pain Free Patriots, my pain was reduced by 80 percent. That changed my life. I didn’t think that I would ever have another day without pain. I’m thanking Pain Free Patriots from the bottom of my heart because I’m able to move on with my life and do a lot more with my life than I would have ever done with the pain I had.
Because I’m pain free, I’ve been able to enjoy life a lot more. I get better sleep at night. During the day, I’m able to do more around the house and help out. That’s helped my relationship with my wife and my daughter immensely. Being there and being a helpful parent and being able to do things is the most important part of being a dad. So, I can’t reiterate enough how much being pain free has brought joy to my life.
