Three Stories from the Front Lines of Chronic Back Pain Relief

No one tells the story of Pain Free Patriots better than the veterans we have had the privilege of serving. Meet Patrick, Behzad, and Barry, three veterans who came to Pain Free Patriots to find relief from chronic back pain.

“I expected it to fail. But it didn’t.” Patrick L.’s Story

When I got out of the Marine Corps and transferred to college, I started noticing a lot more of my back muscles restraining, and restraining, and restraining. My whole life would be put on hold for weeks at a time.

A couple of times, my back muscles paralyzed me to the point where I was hospitalized for four or five days, not able to move. After the last episode in 2017, I started to seek a lot of help. I was told about Pain Free Patriots.

In January 2019, I started with Pain Free Patriots. I was very skeptical. Very, very, very skeptical. [I had suffered] 18 years of chronic back pain with every amount of narcotic possible thrown at me, both IVs and in pill form. It was like shooting a tank with a BB gun. What in the world would a non-narcotic form [of care] look like?

I had no clue what this was going to be. I had no expectations. Well, actually, I expected it to fail, to be quite honest.

But it didn’t.

“It’s just been an amazing experience. I look forward to every day I have on this journey of recovery.” Behzad’s Story

I served in the United States Navy from 1996 to 2000, where I was an aircraft structural mechanic. I reached petty officer third class. I got out in 2000, and I’ve been through [the Pain Free Patriots] program because of the chronic pain I’ve had from my PTSD.

I’ve been going to Pain Free Patriots for a couple months now. I’ve seen amazing, amazing results. The pain in my back and neck and head and along my whole right side of my body has decreased amazingly.

“I’ve turned around 180 degrees.” Barry’s Story

I retired out of the military in 2008. I was with the 101st Airborne Air Assault Division. I jumped out of airplanes for many, many years.

I started getting some back [pain] about 6 to 8 months ago. I had noticed within my life and my family, that I couldn’t get out and do things like I normally used to enjoy, like going out and walking with my dogs or getting out in the garden or getting out and just enjoying a day of fishing or hunting. My mind got down to where I wasn’t feeling good and was at a wit’s end trying to figure out what the pain was [that was] going on.

I heard about the wellness center through the [VA’s] Yellow Ribbon Program. I came here thinking it may take a year to get straightened out from my back injury and my back ailments, but it only took a short period of time.
